About
My name is Scott Lewis. By day I am Enterprise Content Management consultant in Richmond, Virginia, USA. My background is in graphic design, though I do very little design these days. I began toying with web programming in 1996 but did not really start digging in until 1998 or so. In 2001 I switched to programming full time.
In addition to spending most of my spare time working on the SkyBlueCanvas open source project, I take on the occasional freelance project and write about web development topics including PHP, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS.
I also have a passion for foreign cultures and languages. At one time I could speak French fairly well, but it has grown rusty from lack of use. I am currently learning Russian and know a few phrases in several languages including German, Spanish, Romanian, Hindi, Urdu, Chinese and Japanese. I enjoy meeting people from cultures around the world and learning about their language, lifestyle and cuisine. SkyBlueCanvas has been a wonderful project in this respect because I have met people from at least a dozen countries including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Belgium, Sweden, France, England, Belarus, Russia, Japan, Scotland (the home of my ancestors), Ireland, Poland, Brazil and Turkey.
